The Department of the Navy is seeking a skilled Welder (WG-11) to join its group at the Detail Loma Involved in San Diego, California.
This federal position backs naval shipyard and maintenance facilities, covering Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Trident Refit Facility Bangor, and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.
As a Welder, you’ll perform critical welding tasks on piping, pieces, and setups, making sure they encounter rigorous Navy standards for strength, tightness, and pressure.
Your function will involve spotting metals and alloys by color code and usual markings, using various welding machines and procedures, and inspecting wrapped up projects to acceptance standards of NDT and other tests.
You’ll also use test techniques to work out metal or alloy composition. This role needs precision, attention to detail, and the capacity to perform with minimal supervision.

Salary & Compensation
Estimated marketplace pay: $29 - $48 per hour.
Qualification
To qualify for the Welder WG-11 position, you must reveal through background and training that you possess the standard level of understanding and ability needed to perform the responsibilities. Role Responsibilities
Spot and associate metals, alloys, and filler metal by color code and normal markings.
- Produce welds meeting acceptance standards of NDT, strength, tightness, or pressure tests.
- Apply test ways for determining metals or alloys.
- Inspect finished welding projects for caliber and compliance.
- Work various welding machines and procedures to weld piping, parts, or structures.
- Function in environments with potentially harmful physical and chemical agents; wear personal protective equipment.
- May demand to perform uncommon tours, covering nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations, such as remote or isolated sites, may be called for.
