Olympic College is recruiting adjunct faculty to instruct the Planet Civilization sequence (HIST& 126, 127, and 128) on the Bremerton campus. This is an in-person teaching post; applicants available only for online instruction won’t be considered.

The perform covers teaching college-level courses, getting ready syllabi, grading, keeping up student records, and communicating with students and workforce. Evening or weekend classes and instruction at satellite campuses may be called for.

Qualification

A Master’s degree in History from an accredited institution and previous teaching experience are needed. You must be fit to instruct Planet Civilization courses (HIST& 126, 127, 128) and have elementary computer competencies including Microsoft Office.

Role Responsibilities

Train in-person classes on the Bremerton campus, and distance classes as needed.nTeach college-level courses under the college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and departmental guidelines.nProvide standard teaching such as related preparation and grading.nProvide class syllabi to students and to the division office as requested.nMaintain exact records of students and wrap up needed forms.nMay include evening instruction and/or instruction at satellite campuses.nCommunicate punctually with students, faculty, and workforce.nPerform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Information

This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis.nPlacement on the faculty pay schedule is commensurate with educational background and expertise.nAdjuncts aren’t eligible for advantages upon first hire. Eligibility begins after operating 50% of a full-time load for two consecutive quarters.nBenefits may contain deferred compensation, TIAA supplemental retirement, sick exit, Aflac, tuition waiver, EAP, fitness center, and priority consideration for on-site childcare.nFaculty must hand in formal, unopened transcripts to Human References within 30 days of employment.nA background verify such as criminal history will be conducted before take on.nApplications remain active for 12 months; applying doesn’t guarantee a post.
