World History Adjunct is listed by Olympic College. Olympic College is recruiting adjunct faculty to train the Planet Civilization sequence (HIST& 126, 127, and 128) on the Bremerton campus. This is an in-person teaching post; candidates available only for online instruction won’t be considered.
Perform in this role involves teaching college-level courses, getting ready syllabi, grading, keeping up student records, and communicating with students and workforce. Evening or weekend classes and instruction at satellite campuses may be needed.
This recruitment sets up an candidate pool for future vacancies; people are contacted as requires arise on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Submissions remain active for 12 months. The college seeks instructors dedicated to student-centered learning, closing achievement gaps, and supporting diversity.
The role is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Association for Higher Education (AHE).
Salary & Compensation
Pay / Cover Package: $1,000 per year.
Qualification
A Master's degree in History from an accredited institution and previous teaching background are called for. You must be fit to instruct Globe Civilization courses (HIST& 126, 127, 128) and have fundamental computer expertise such as Microsoft Office.

- Previous teaching expertise.
- Capacity to train Planet Civilization courses (HIST& 126, 127, 128).
- Core computer abilities, covering Microsoft Office submissions.
- College-level teaching know-how (desired).
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching students with diverse backgrounds.
- Background incorporating accessibility and unique demands accommodations.
- Reliable communication and interpersonal competencies.
- Aptitude to apply learning management systems and technology in instruction.
- Authorization to work in the United States (visa sponsorship not on offer).
Role Responsibilities
Instruct in-person classes on the Bremerton campus, and distance classes as needed.
- Train college-level courses under the college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and departmental guidelines.
- Give grade teaching including related preparation and grading.
- Supply class syllabi to students and to the division office as requested.
- Retain precise records of students and finish required forms.
- May contain evening instruction and/or instruction at satellite campuses.
- Communicate punctually with students, faculty, and team.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Information
This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis.
- Placement on the faculty pay schedule is commensurate with educational background and expertise.
- Adjuncts aren’t eligible for advantages upon early recruit; eligibility begins after operating 50% of a full-time load for two consecutive quarters.
- Benefits may cover deferred compensation, TIAA supplemental retirement, sick leave, Aflac, tuition waiver, EAP, fitness center, and priority consideration for on-site childcare.
- Faculty must submit official, unopened transcripts to Human References within 30 days of employment.
- A background inspect such as criminal history will be conducted before take on.
