YEP After School Program Leader, 19-30 hours per week

To qualify for the YEP After School Program Leader position, you must meet the education and experience requirements specified by Hayward Unified School District. The role is open to candidates who can demonstrate relevant youth program leadership skills.

• Experience working with school-age children in an educational or recreational setting.
• Ability to plan and lead group activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Pass a background check and TB screening.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, 19-30 hours per week during the school year.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Plan and implement daily after-school activities including homework help, enrichment, and recreation.

• Supervise and ensure the safety of students during program hours.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive environment.
• Communicate with parents, teachers, and school staff as needed.
• Keep attendance records and report incidents.
• Participate in staff training and meetings.
• Set up and clean up activity spaces.
• Adapt activities to meet diverse student needs.

Must be at least 18 years old.

• Valid California driver's license may be required for some sites.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Comfortable working with groups of up to 20 students.
• Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan).
• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Completion of mandated reporter training.
