About Child and Youth Services
Child and Youth Services (CYS) is a U.S. Army program that provides child care, youth activities, and school support for military families. As part of the Army's Quality of Life initiatives, CYS operates child development centers, school-age care, and youth programs on Army installations worldwide. The program is committed to supporting the readiness and well-being of Soldiers and their families by offering safe, affordable, and developmentally appropriate care for children from infancy through adolescence.
As of July 2026, Child and Youth Services continues to support military families through its programs at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The U.S. Army remains focused on quality of life initiatives, including child care and youth development, as part of its broader mission to maintain a ready and resilient force.
