You will analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot, remove, install, repair, modify, maintain, test, align, calibrate, and certify components of aircraft electrical systems, including electronically and pneumatically controlled environmental systems. The role requires certifying these systems as airworthy.

As part of the Texas Air National Guard.. You will perform functional tests.. Analyze performance.. And troubleshoot electronic.. Electrical.. Hydraulic.. Pneumatic.. And mechanical functions of subsystems integrated into digital brake/antiskid systems.. Maintenance annunciation panels (MAP).. Integrated main generators..

Standby generators.. Emergency generators.. Flight control power.. And AC/DC power distribution. You will interpret analog and digital operational characteristics from the MAP, onboard computers, aircrew debriefings, and specialized test equipment.

Duties include removing, repairing, calibrating, installing, aligning, inspecting, and conducting operational performance checkouts on electronic/electrical and environmental system components. You will analyze malfunctions using schematics, logic and wiring diagrams, computer data, and factory drawings.

Salary / Pay Package: $33 - $39 per hour.

Qualification

To qualify at the WG-11 grade level, your resume must clearly show specialized experience with beginning and ending dates. Assumptions about your experience will not be made.

  • Experience installing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying electrical systems and major substation components.
  • Experience diagnosing malfunctions and determining remedies when complex relationships exist among different electrical system circuits.
  • Experience making electrical repairs using precision measuring equipment and common hand tools.
  • Experience setting up and operating computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode.
  • Experience running diagnostic programs to test and analyze aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers and radar.
  • Experience repairing discrepancies found during testing.
  • Active membership in the Texas Air National Guard (TXANG) is required.
  • Military grade: Amn (E-2) not to exceed SSgt (E-5). AFSC: 2A636, 2A656, or 2A676.
Role Responsibilities

Perform functional tests, analyze performance, and troubleshoot electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical functions of subsystems.

  • Interpret analog and digital operational characteristics from Maintenance Annunciation Panel, onboard computers, and aircrew debriefings.

  • Diagnose circuit operating characteristics using on-board computer, special test equipment, and laptop computers to isolate problems to the failing component.
  • Perform organizational and intermediate level maintenance modifications as required.
  • Perform recurring inspections and system tests to certify aircraft are ready for flight.
  • Provide on-the-job training to lower grade personnel and technical guidance to other work centers.
