AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN (Title 32) is listed by Air National Guard Units. This Aircraft Electrician post is based at the 149th Maintenance Squadron (MAI SQ) on Kelly AFB in San Antonio, Texas.

Work in this role includes removing, repairing, calibrating, installing, aligning, inspecting, and carrying out operational performance checkouts on electronic/electrical and environmental system components. You’ll analyze malfunctions using schematics, logic and wiring diagrams, computer data, and factory drawings.
Salary & Compensation
Pay / Settle Package: $33 - $39 per hour.
Qualification
To qualify at the WG-11 grade level, your resume must obviously demonstrate specialized background with beginning and ending dates. Assumptions about your expertise won’t be formed.
- Experience installing, keeping up, repairing, and modifying electrical systems and major substation components.
- Know-how diagnosing malfunctions and determining remedies when intricate relationships exist among varied electrical system circuits.
- Background making electrical repairs using precision measuring equipment and typical hand resources.
- Expertise setting up and operating computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode.
- Experience running diagnostic programs to test and analyze aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers and radar.
- Experience repairing discrepancies spotted during testing.
- Active membership in the Texas Air National Guard (TXANG) is called for.
- Military grade: Amn (E-2) not to exceed SSgt (E-5). AFSC: 2A636, 2A656, or 2A676.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform functional tests, analyze performance, and troubleshoot electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical functions of subsystems.
- Interpret analog and digital operational characteristics from Maintenance Annunciation Panel, onboard computers, and aircrew debriefings.
- Take out, repair, calibrate, install, align, inspect, and conduct operational performance checkouts on electronic/electrical and environmental system components.
- Analyze malfunctions using schematics, logic and wiring diagrams, computer information, and factory drawings.
- Diagnose circuit working characteristics using on-board computer, special test equipment, and laptop computers to isolate challenges to the failing component.
- Perform organizational and intermediate level maintenance modifications as needed.
- Perform recurring inspections and system tests to certify aircraft are prepared for flight.
- Provide on-the-job training to lower grade personnel and technical guidance to other operate centers.
