Salary & Compensation
Salary: $48,578 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for this Classification Caseworker post, you must encounter the State of South Carolina minimum requirements: a high school diploma and related experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the called for related experience. SCDC also calls for a bachelor's degree.

- Must successfully finish four (4) weeks of SCDC Fundamental Training upon take on.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate inmate records to work out eligibility for institutional assignment, custody alters, position assignment, and treatment programs.
- Arrange and implement an equitable classification system for a caseload of about 250 inmates.
- Run periodic reviews of inmates' progress.
- Interview inmates, go over and record progress on a periodic basis.
- Counsel inmates as to their general adjustment to the institution and related issues.
- Respond orally and/or through written correspondence to inquiries for data on inmates by departmental officials and other agencies.
- Work the CRT and automated system to ascertain info about inmate's criminal, educational, and family history.
