The State of Washington Department of Corrections, Community Corrections Division, has a permanent full-time Community Corrections Officer 2 opening in the Northwest Region-Section 5, West Seattle Field Office in Seattle, WA.
This role involves supervising offenders in the community, ensuring compliance with court-ordered conditions, and promoting public safety. The position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. To 5:00 p.m., with work hours determined by unit needs.

Qualification
This Community Corrections Officer 2 position is an internal transfer opportunity under WFSE Article 4.7. Only current Washington State employees who meet the transfer criteria may apply.
- Must be a current Washington State employee requesting a transfer under WFSE Article 4.7 of the 2025-2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Must meet the qualifications for a Community Corrections Officer 2 as defined by the Department of Corrections.
- Experience in community corrections, probation, or parole is preferred.
- Knowledge of offender supervision techniques and case management.
- Ability to enforce court-ordered conditions and use evidence-based practices.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the assigned area.
- Must pass a background investigation and psychological evaluation.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility as needed.
Role Responsibilities
Supervise a caseload of offenders in the community to ensure compliance with court orders.
- Conduct home visits, employment checks, and collateral contacts.
- Use evidence-based practices to reduce recidivism and promote behavior change.
- Prepare reports and documentation for court hearings and violation proceedings.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, treatment providers, and community resources.
- Administer drug and alcohol testing as required.
- Respond to violations and initiate appropriate enforcement actions.
- Participate in unit meetings and training to maintain current knowledge.
Conditions & Requirements
Must be a current Washington State employee eligible for internal transfer under WFSE Article 4.7.
- Must be able to work in the West Seattle Field Office.
- Must pass a criminal background check and psychological evaluation.
- Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license.
- Must be willing to work a standard schedule with possible adjustments based on unit needs.
- May be required to carry a firearm and complete related training.
Benefits
Salary range $5,948
- $7,994 per year, plus 5% premium pay for King County-based positions.
