CRASH/FIRE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC - LIHUE AIRPORT - KAUAI is listed by State of Hawai'i. The State of Hawai'i Department of Transportation, Airports Division, is seeking a Crash/Fire Equipment Mechanic to perform at Lihue Airport on the island of Kauai.
In this role, you’ll keep up and repair aircraft crash/fire rescue vehicles, boats, and auxiliary equipment. You’ll also repair diesel and gasoline engines, such as synchronized dual engines, fabricate portions, perform welding to modify vehicles, and construct or repair various items.
Also, you may repair automobiles, trucks, and hefty construction equipment. This role is best-suited for experienced mechanics with a commercial driver's license who are looking for a stable, full-time path in public service on Kauai.

Salary: $6,539 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for this Crash/Fire Equipment Mechanic position, you must have a sound Commercial Driver's License (CDL) – Class A with Endorsement N (tank vehicles) and no restrictions relating to codes E, I, or L. The CDL must be legitimate at the date of appointment.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) – Class A with Endorsement N (tank vehicles).
- No restrictions relating to codes E (vehicles equipped with manual transmission), I (class C vehicle over 18,000 pounds GVWR), or L (vehicles equipped with air brakes).
- Know-how maintaining and repairing aircraft crash/fire rescue vehicles, boats, and auxiliary equipment.
- Background repairing diesel and gasoline engines, covering synchronized dual engines.
- Aptitude to fabricate parts and perform welding to modify vehicles and construct or repair various items.
- Expertise repairing automobiles, trucks, and weighty construction equipment is desirable.
- Must meet all other qualifications as specified in the role announcement.

- Uphold and repair aircraft crash/fire rescue vehicles, boats, and auxiliary equipment.
- Repair diesel and gasoline engines, such as synchronized dual engines.
- Fabricate parts and perform welding to modify vehicles and construct or repair various items.
- Repair automobiles, trucks, and hefty construction equipment as needed.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Conditions & Requirements

- Must be fit to operate full-time at Lihue Airport on Kauai.
