The State of South Carolina is hiring a Data Architect to design, implement, and govern enterprise data architecture, data models, and system integration patterns. This role supports agency-wide applications, analytics, and operational systems.
You will establish and enforce enterprise standards for documenting system integrations, interfaces, data flows, data models, and dependencies, ensuring documentation is accurate and consistently applied.
You will also provide strategic direction for the Agency's data governance program, including policies, standards, roles, and processes related to data quality, stewardship, metadata, security, and lifecycle management.
Qualification
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in enterprise data architecture, data modeling, and data governance. A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is typically required, with relevant experience considered in lieu of education.

- Manage and supervise the data management team and the Data Governance Program Manager.
- Develop and enforce enterprise data standards, architectural guidelines, and governance procedures.
- Ensure consistency, interoperability, and compliance with state IT policies, security requirements, and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with executive leadership on data initiatives.
