Job Description
The Los Angeles Town Attorney's Office is hiring a Deputy City Attorney III/IV to join its Ethics and Election Team.
In this role, you’ll cater to as counsel to the Metro Ethics Commission, providing written and oral guidance on conflicts of interest, governmental ethics, campaign finance reform, lobbyist regulation, and correct use of public references.

Qualification
You must keep a legitimate license to practice law in all courts of the State of California. This role calls for expertise in governmental ethics, conflicts of interest, and election law, with the aptitude to supply obvious permitted tips to public officials and commissions.

Role Responsibilities
Give written and oral tips on conflicts of interest and governmental ethics to Metro Attorney colleagues, city departments, and public officials.
- Assist as lawful counsel to the City Ethics Commission, coordinating with commission workforce on ethics-related guidance.
- Advise on campaign finance reform proposals, lobbyist regulation, and proper employ of public funds.
- Interpret the Town Charter and other permitted matters related to ethics and governance.
- Aid with the conduct of elections and related matters as assigned.
- Advise the City Clerk and other officials on election matters, including ballot measures.
- Operate with other attorneys in the Ethics and Election Group.
Conditions & Requirements
Must be a participant of the California State Bar in solid standing.

- May need occasional evening or weekend function for election-related tasks.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Los Angeles area.
