DESKTOP ANALYST - Range 15 / NON

This position is open to the general public and current Municipal employees. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; the Municipality cannot provide visa sponsorship. This is a non-represented position under the Municipality's Personnel Rules.

• Experience troubleshooting desktop hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
• Familiarity with network data cabling and connectivity standards.
• Ability to use specialized test equipment and software diagnostic tools.
• Experience assisting with hardware and software installations, moves, adds, and changes.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license may be required for travel between sites.

Assist municipal customers with information technology problems via phone, email, or in person.

• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and resolve desktop hardware, software, and network issues.
• Diagnose and repair network data cabling and connectivity problems.
• Use specialized test equipment and software tools for troubleshooting.
• Assist with new hardware, software, and data network installations.
• Perform moves, adds, and changes for IT equipment and users.
• Perform computer operations and systems monitoring as needed.
• Document issues, solutions, and inventory in the IT service management system.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

• Must pass a background check as required by the Municipality.
• May be required to work occasional overtime or after-hours for emergencies.
• Must comply with all Municipality of Anchorage Personnel Rules and IT security policies.
• Physical ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 pounds.

Competitive hourly wage of $36.24

• $53.72 per hour.
• Full-time schedule with stable Monday-Friday hours.
