The City of Reno is hiring Engineering Venture Coordinators to aid the planning, design, and delivery of capital improvement projects.
This entry-level skilled civil engineering role performs under the guidance of an Associate Civil Engineer and involves coordinating with Town departments, partner agencies, consultants, contractors, utility providers, developers, and the public.
You’ll perform engineering responsibilities throughout the task lifecycle, such as strategy examine, field inspections, contract administration, and construction management. Two immediate openings are on offer: one in the Public Functions Department and one in the Utility Services Department.

Salary & Compensation
Salary: $102,315 - $124,426 per year.
Qualification
You must meet the minimum qualifications for an Engineering Project Coordinator as established by the City of Reno. This usually covers a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a carefully related field and applicable expert know-how.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a tightly related engineering discipline.
- Skilled engineering registration (PE) or aptitude to obtain within a specified timeframe may be required.
- Background in venture coordination, construction management, or public operates engineering.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, design standards, and construction practices.
- Familiarity with task management software and tools.
- Legitimate driver's license and ability to travel to venture sites.
- Strong communication and interpersonal expertise for coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
- Capacity to go through and interpret engineering schemes, specifications, and contracts.
- Expertise with capital improvement projects is preferred.
- Aptitude to work effectively both independently and as section of a group.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Scheme, design, and run capital improvement projects from conception through completion.
- Arrange with Metro departments, partner agencies, consultants, contractors, and the public.
- Review engineering blueprints, specifications, and expense estimates for compliance with Town standards.
- Run field inspections to monitor construction progress and confirm grade.
- Administer contracts, covering alter orders, progress payments, and closeout.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and task documentation.
- Help with the development of venture budgets and schedules.
- Respond to inquiries from developers, contractors, and the community.
- Ensure projects gather regulatory conditions and environmental standards.
- Support senior engineers in involved task jobs and studies.
Conditions & Requirements
- Must be capable to pass a background inspect and drug screening.
- Possess a sound Nevada driver's license or obtain one within 30 days of take on.
- May want to function occasional evenings or weekends for venture needs.
- Physical capacity to carry out field inspections, such as walking on uneven terrain.
