Job Description
The North Slope Borough (NSB) is hiring an Environmental Compliance Technician to support environmental compliance efforts in Point Lay, Alaska.
This role is critical for ensuring NSB operations meet federal and state regulations, including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Clean Water Act (CWA).
The technician will work closely with NSB departments to conduct inspections, manage waste reporting, and investigate environmental complaints.
Qualification

Role Responsibilities
Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections of NSB tanks, facilities, and activities.
- Assist NSB departments in achieving environmental compliance.
- Implement compliance measures required by EPA, DEC, and other regulatory agencies.
- Investigate complaints and suspected violations regarding environmental issues, such as illegal dumping.
- Develop and submit annual waste manifest and inventory reports.
- Verify proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
- Travel to Utqiagvik and off-slope locations as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of inspections and compliance activities.
