Salary & Compensation
Salary: $36.49 per hour.
Qualification
You must have know-how in environmental compliance, preferably with understanding of RCRA, CWA, and related regulations. This role needs the ability to carry out inspections, get ready reports, and perform independently in a remote setting.
- Knowledge of RCRA, CWA, and other state/federal environmental regulations.
- Background carrying out environmental inspections and audits.
- Aptitude to arrange waste manifest and inventory reports.
- Familiarity with hazardous chemical handling, storage, and disposal procedures.
- Sturdy written and verbal communication competencies.
- Capacity to function in remote Arctic conditions and travel to Utqiagvik and off-slope locations.
- Legitimate driver's license and aptitude to run vehicles in challenging terrain.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections of NSB tanks, facilities, and activities.
- Assist NSB departments in achieving environmental compliance.
- Put in place compliance measures called for by EPA, DEC, and other regulatory agencies.
- Investigate complaints and suspected violations about environmental matters, such as illegal dumping.
- Build and hand in annual waste manifest and inventory reports.
- Verify correct handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
- Travel to Utqiagvik and off-slope locations as needed.
- Uphold precise records and documentation of inspections and compliance activities.
