The Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) is hiring an Environmental Protection Specialist at Naval Base San Diego, California. This GS-12 post is full-time and permanent, with telework eligibility as determined by agency policy.

You’ll function on intricate environmental protection projects involving analysis, development, execution, and management of environmental programs. Salary & Compensation

Salary: $102,246 - $132,923 per year.

Qualification

To qualify for this GS-12 Environmental Protection Specialist role, your resume must reveal at least one year of specialized know-how equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal solution or equivalent in the private/public sector.

Specialized experience must cover environmental compliance media management, understanding of environmental protection laws and permit conditions, and problem-solving using established policies.

• At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or cover band in the Federal offering or equivalent expertise in the personal or public sector.
• Background must contain environmental compliance media management.
• Expertise of environmental protection laws, regulations, licensing/permit needs, and precedent decisions governing environmental operations.
• Aptitude to resolve issues using established policies.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be determined right for federal employment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work on environmental protection projects of involved scope involving analysis, development, implementation, and management of environmental programs.
• Supply day-to-day environmental compliance and oversight.
• Oversee installation aspects of environmental schemes and permits by securing compliance with permits issued by area, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
• Uphold insight/oversight of compliance status such as inspection discrepancies, status of corrective actions, and permit compliance data.
• Respond to and manage spill response crew actions.
• Travel from standard task station to CONUS and OCONUS locations, including remote or isolated sites, using military and commercial aircraft.

Conditions & Requirements

• New employees to the Department of the Navy must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification verify.
• Must finish ethics orientation within three months of appointment and send in a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE-450) within 30 days.
• Must finalize training, obtain, and keep up a public sector credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This role may call for travel from typical responsibility station to CONUS and OCONUS and may involve remote or isolated sites.
