Qualification

To qualify for this GS-12 Environmental Protection Specialist position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent in the private/public sector. Specialized experience must include environmental compliance media management, knowledge of environmental protection laws and permit requirements, and problem-solving using established policies.

  • Experience must include environmental compliance media management.
  • Knowledge of environmental protection laws, regulations, licensing/permit requirements, and precedent decisions governing environmental operations.
  • Ability to solve problems using established policies.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
Role Responsibilities

Work on environmental protection projects of complex scope involving analysis, development, implementation, and management of environmental programs.

  • Provide day-to-day environmental compliance and oversight.
  • Manage installation aspects of environmental plans and permits by ensuring compliance with permits issued by local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain knowledge/oversight of compliance status including inspection discrepancies, status of corrective actions, and permit compliance data.
  • Respond to and oversee spill response team actions.
  • Travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS locations, including remote or isolated sites, using military and commercial aircraft.
Conditions & Requirements
