Equipment Operator, Journey 1 (PCN 251086)

This position is open to Alaska residents only. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for Equipment Operator, Journey 1 as defined by the State of Alaska.

• Alaska residency required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as graders, plow trucks, and loaders.
• Knowledge of snow and ice removal techniques.
• Ability to perform traffic control duties.
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or ability to obtain one.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.

Operate heavy and light-duty equipment for highway maintenance.

• Perform snow and ice removal using plow/sanders and graders.
• Maintain vegetation, signs, barricades, fences, bridges, culverts, and drainage structures.
• Maintain bike paths and road surfaces within State Right-of-Way.
• Perform traffic control duties as needed.
• Service and maintain assigned equipment.
• Work as part of a maintenance crew at the Anchorage maintenance station.
• Support the State of Alaska's mission to Keep Alaska Moving.

Alaska residency at time of application.

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) if not already held.
• Pass a pre-employment background check.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physical labor.
• Available for emergency call-outs during snow and ice events.

$28.54 per hour starting pay.
