Job Description
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO) is hiring a Fall 2026 IT Intern (Triage Analyst) to join the Department of the Chief Information Office (DCIO), Information Technology Security Office (ITSO) in Washington, DC.
This internship is designed for students pursuing careers in public service, particularly in cybersecurity. The intern will support 24x7x365 cybersecurity operations by aggregating cybersecurity alerts from the previous 24-hour period for trend analysis and enhanced threat landscape understanding.
Duties include conducting thorough analysis of network, endpoint, and application security events.
Qualification
Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student taking at least half-time coursework in an accredited program, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student in an accredited 2-year, 4-year, or post-secondary program.
- Must take at least a half-time academic or technical course load.
- Must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must have completed one full year of post-secondary education (30 semester or 45 quarter hours) by the closing date.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Must have strong organization and communication skills and be detail-oriented.
- Must have working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or WordPerfect.
- Must have excellent writing, reading, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to organize a variety of assignments simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Seniors graduating at the end of the current semester are not eligible unless continuing as a degree-seeking student next semester.
Role Responsibilities
Aggregate cybersecurity alerts across the previous 24-hour period for trend analysis.
- Conduct thorough analysis of network, endpoint, and application security events.
- Support 24x7x365 cybersecurity operations.
- Enhance understanding of the threat landscape through alert analysis.
- Improve writing, research, analytical, logical, multi-tasking, and customer service skills.
- Participate in networking opportunities with fellow interns, agency employees, and other government employers.
Conditions & Requirements
Selection contingent upon completion of OF-306, Declaration of Federal Employment.
