Forensic Security Employee Trainee - Torrance State Hospital

To be eligible for the Forensic Security Employee Trainee position, you must meet the minimum experience and training requirements as specified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. No prior forensic experience is necessary, as the role includes a complete training program.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
• Ability to pass a background check and security clearance.
• Valid driver's license may be required for certain duties.
• Physical ability to perform patient restraint and emergency procedures.
• Willingness to work in a secure psychiatric setting.
• No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
• U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.

Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.

• Monitor patient behavior and report changes to clinical staff.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment by conducting regular rounds.
• Perform basic nursing procedures including taking vital signs.
• Support treatment plans by encouraging patient participation in therapy.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in patient restraint when necessary.
• Document patient observations and incidents accurately.
• Attend training sessions and complete required certifications.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure patient care.
• Adhere to security protocols and maintain confidentiality.

Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

• Completion of a training program during the probationary period.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR and first aid certification.
• Willingness to undergo drug testing and medical examination.
• Compliance with all Commonwealth of Pennsylvania policies and procedures.
