The City of San Diego is hiring a Golf Operations Assistant to assist day-to-day operations at municipal golf courses. In this role, you’ll be the first detail of contact for golfers, answering questions about course procedures, rules, and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Reply questions from clients about golf course procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Determine and gather proper green fees from golfers.
- Arrange beginning order for players and organize golfers into playing groups.
- Form arrangements for timely spacing of groups on the course.
- Patrol the golf course to interpret and enforce course rules.
- Retain records of numbers of players and cash receipts.
- Operate a cash register or computer system for transactions.
- Close out and balance the cash register at the end of shifts.
- Work out and issue resident identification cards to eligible buyers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Conditions & Requirements
- Must be capable to operate a full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Aptitude to stand and walk for extended periods though patrolling the course.
- Must be fit to lift and bear up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Legitimate driver's license may be required for some positions.
- Must pass a background verify and drug screening.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to perform outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be capable to communicate effectively with the public and coworkers.

- General pay raises scheduled: 3.5% reliable July 1, 2027; 2% efficient July 1, 2028; 2% productive January 1, 2029.
