Job Description
The Green & Gold Congressional Aide Scheme (G&G CAP) offers a two-year paid fellowship for Veterans, Gold Star family participants, and active-duty spouses to perform directly for a Participant of Congress, Committee, or House Officer.
Aides assist in Washington, DC, or district offices nationwide, gaining background in constituent services, legislative operate, and liaison with Veterans Offering Bodies. This full-time temporary post pays $56,000-$68,000 per year at grade HS HS3-HS5.
The plan aims to broaden profession chances for those who have served or sacrificed. Tasks vary by office but may contain resolving federal agency issues for constituents, attending nearby events, and performing legislative research. Particular responsibilities are discussed during meetings.

Salary & Compensation
Pay / Settle Package: $56,000 - $68,000 per year.
Qualification
You must be honorably discharged Veterans released within six years (cover grades E-5/O-3/W-2 or below; E-6/O-4/W-3 within six months of separation eligible).. Gold Star family participants of a veteran who died in line of task or from service-connected disability.. Or active-duty spouses.
High school diploma needed.
- Veterans: Honorably discharged, released from active duty within last six years, settle grade at or below E-5/O-3/W-2 (E-6/O-4/W-3 within six months of separation may be eligible). Not eligible if receiving 20-year or TERA retirement.
- Gold Star Families: Surviving spouse, child/step-child, parent/step-parent, or sibling/step-sibling of a veteran who died in line of responsibility or from service-connected disability.
- Active-Duty Spouses: Must be spouse of an active-duty solution participant subject to permanent modify of station orders. Those under Title X mobilization not eligible.
- Aspect oriented with excellent organization and computer expertise.
- Ability to complete projects within timelines and under minimal supervision.
- Ability to function well under pressure and uphold expert, courteous demeanor.
- Aptitude to exercise discretion and independent judgment with sensitive data.
- Capacity to run multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Productive verbal and written communication abilities.
Role Responsibilities
- Serve as a constituent offerings representative, helping area constituents resolve problems with federal agencies.
- Cater to as liaison to nearby Veterans Offering Institutions.
- Take part in area events and meetings on behalf of the Participant of Congress.
- Perform legislative work, including research and analysis.
- Aid the Participant's office team with administrative tasks as needed.
- Represent the office at community functions and briefings.
- Aid with casework and correspondence.

Additional Information
- Required Documents: Veterans must send in Resume and DD-214 (Participant Copy 4). Gold Star candidates call for Resume and DD-1300 or DD-2064 with Line of Task Determination (for active duty deaths) or last DD-214 and VA eligibility letter (for service-connected disability deaths), plus proof of dependency (DD-1172 or equivalent). Active-duty spouses must hand in Resume and front/back copy of Dependent ID card (DD-1172).
