Qualification

Applicants must be honorably discharged Veterans released within six years (pay grades E-5/O-3/W-2 or below; E-6/O-4/W-3 within six months of separation eligible).. Gold Star family members of a veteran who died in line of duty or from service-connected disability.. Or active-duty spouses. High school diploma required.

  • Veterans: Honorably discharged, released from active duty within last six years, pay grade at or below E-5/O-3/W-2 (E-6/O-4/W-3 within six months of separation may be eligible). Not eligible if receiving 20-year or TERA retirement.
  • Gold Star Families: Surviving spouse, child/step-child, parent/step-parent, or sibling/step-sibling of a veteran who died in line of duty or from service-connected disability.
  • Active-Duty Spouses: Must be spouse of an active-duty service member subject to permanent change of station orders. Those under Title X mobilization not eligible.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization and computer skills.
  • Ability to complete projects within timelines and under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Role Responsibilities

Serve as a constituent services representative, helping local constituents resolve issues with federal agencies.

  • Serve as liaison to local Veterans Service Organizations.
  • Attend local events and meetings on behalf of the Member of Congress.
  • Perform legislative work, including research and analysis.
  • Support the Member's office team with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Represent the office at community functions and briefings.
  • Assist with casework and correspondence.
