FLTREADCEN EAST at Cherry Point, North Carolina is hiring a Hazardous Waste Disposer to manage the safe handling, segregation, and disposal of hazardous waste.
This full-time, permanent WG-6 position involves inspecting storage areas, operating forklifts and material handling equipment, and following RCRA/EPA/OSHA guidelines.

Qualification

Role Responsibilities
Perform daily inspections of hazardous property storage areas to ensure accurate accounting, identification, and storage of property.
- Handle hundreds of various types of waste and material characterized as solid, liquid, gas, flammable, corrosives, reactive, and toxic.
- Conduct visual inspections of tanks and clean by hand using multiple tools to remove corrosive cleaning agents.
- Conduct start-up procedures on equipment ranging from stand-alone glove boxes to large aircraft paint booths.
- Perform test sampling, stabilizing, and neutralizing as required for various types of material and waste.
- Read and interpret SDS/RCRA/EPA/OSHA guidelines.
- Operate forklifts, trucks, material handling equipment, and hand tools to separate, combine, and transport hazardous waste/material.
- Use knowledge of specialized container requirements to store and ship hazardous wastes.
- Operate specialized reclamation equipment with knowledge of stabilizing and neutralizing procedures.

Must obtain and maintain a current valid US driver's license.

- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance.
- Must obtain and maintain a current Government Driver Certificate.
