The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) is hiring Hop Samplers for multiple positions in Yakima County.

Qualification

Role Responsibilities
Collect hop samples from fields and processing facilities according to established protocols.
- Inspect hop plants and cones for signs of pests, diseases, or other quality issues.
- Record and document sample data accurately using field forms or electronic devices.
- Transport samples to designated laboratories or inspection points.
- Communicate with growers and facility staff regarding sampling schedules and findings.
- Assist with other Plant Protection Division tasks as needed during peak season.
- Follow all safety and biosecurity protocols while in the field.
- Maintain and care for sampling equipment and vehicles.
