The City of Mesa is hiring a Human Resources Analyst to join its HR team in Mesa, Arizona.
This professional-level role is the entry point in the Analyst series and involves responsible work across recruitment and testing, classification and compensation, employee relations, and other HR functions.
Incumbents may support various City departments, teams, and special projects, applying professional HR knowledge and judgment to advise employees, supervisors, and directors on policies, rules, and procedures.
Qualification

Role Responsibilities
Perform professional HR work in recruitment and testing, including developing job announcements, screening applications, and coordinating interview panels.
- Conduct classification and compensation studies, including job analyses, position reviews, salary surveys, and market data analysis.
- Prepare and maintain job descriptions, classification specifications, and compensation-related reports.
- Advise employees, supervisors, and department directors on HR policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Support employee relations activities, including investigating complaints and advising on disciplinary actions.
- Participate in special projects and cross-departmental teams as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate HR records and databases.

- Valid Arizona driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to work onsite in Mesa, AZ; remote work is not available.
- May be required to work occasional evenings or weekends for special events or projects.

Additional Information
This position is full-time and benefits-eligible.
- The salary range is $75,134
- $107,644 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
