Job Description

The Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) at Naval Air Station Jacksonville is hiring an Information Technology Specialist (Systems Administration) to join its Command Operations Department, Information Systems Division.

In this role, you’ll install, configure, and handle servers, computers, network devices, and other IT infrastructure components within the FRCSE environment.

You’ll ensure system security and compliance with organizational policies and industry proven techniques, proactively monitor system health and performance, troubleshoot matters, and carry out corrective actions.

This role is perfect for a federal IT professional with expertise in systems administration and cybersecurity who wants to support naval aviation readiness.

Salary & Compensation

Salary: $89,508 - $116,362 per year.

Qualification

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized background at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent know-how in the personal or public sector. This expertise must include implementing security measures, installing and managing systems, and providing technical assist.

• At least one year of specialized background at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or settle band in the Federal offering or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Know-how implementing and keeping up evident security measures, ensuring compliance with related policies and regulations, and proactively spotting and mitigating potential vulnerabilities.
• Expertise installing, configuring, and managing assigned systems, making sure their trustworthy and effective operation under established procedures and field proven approaches.
• Experience providing technical assistance and support to close users of computer systems, software submissions, and network services.
• Ability in attention to point, client solution, oral communication, and problem solving.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the frank deposit cover program.
• Must obtain and uphold an interim and/or concluding security clearance.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test (covering marijuana) and be subject to random testing.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and run servers, computers, network devices, and other IT infrastructure components within the FRCSE environment.
• Confirm system security and compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and sector proven ways.
• Proactively monitor system health and performance, troubleshoot issues, and put in place corrective actions.
• Provide technical assistance and back to finish visitors of computer systems, software submissions, and network solutions.
• Carry out and keep up obvious security measures, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
• Proactively pinpoint and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
• Oversee assigned systems to guarantee reliable and streamlined operation.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation as needed.

Conditions & Requirements

• New employees to the Department of the Navy must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
