Qualification

To qualify for this GG-13 Intelligence Specialist (Operations) position.. You must meet one of the specified employment authority categories and possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience includes performing analytic functions such as targeting, quality control, and developing query strategies for Cyber Warfare Analysis in support of Full-spectrum Operations.

  • Specialized Experience: At least one year of experience equivalent to GG-12 performing analytic functions that include targeting, quality control, and development of query strategies to conduct Cyber Warfare Analysis in support of Full-spectrum Operations.
  • Experience must include intelligence-related research, analysis, collections, and/or operations, such as intelligence analysis/production, intelligence collection/operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position.
  • Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle, and organizations; ability to use research tools (library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics, maps); knowledge of systems, procedures, and methods for analyzing, compiling, reporting, and disseminating intelligence data; knowledge of organizations for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
  • Education: Not specified as a substitute; experience is required.
  • Volunteer work (including Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) is creditable as qualifying experience.
  • Must meet suitability/fitness determination via background investigation.
  • Must pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for SCI.
Role Responsibilities

Serve as a Senior Certified SIGINT and CYBER Target Analyst Reporter (TAR) within the US Army 780 MI Brigade, 782 MI Battalion.

  • Oversee and advise in basic analytic techniques required to support the reporting efforts of Cyberspace Operations.
  • Collaborate on specific Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) special cases with the Intelligence Community to exploit their capability to influence or support the organization.
  • Advise and train Analysts and Reporters in proven methods for producing Intelligence reports.
  • Draft, evaluate, edit, review, and release intelligence reports that support cyberspace operations.
  • Perform quality control on intelligence products to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Develop and refine query strategies for cyber warfare analysis.
  • Support full-spectrum operations through targeted intelligence analysis and reporting.
Conditions & Requirements

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter (per AR 600-85).
  • Two-year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance based on a Single-Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for SCI.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency (NSA) facilities and networks.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 25% or less.
  • May be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions.
  • May be subject to short notice expanded hours, possible recall situations, and irregular work hours, including weekends/holidays.
  • Overtime/shift work may be required.
