Job Description

The Lead HR Specialist (GS-12) role is situated at Brooke Army Medical Center, section of the DHA San Antonio Marketplace in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This role offers day-to-day leadership and workload management for the HR group, securing alignment with organizational targets.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, workload management, coaching, training coordination, and problem-solving support for the HR team.
  • Assess personnel actions, monitor production systems, and guarantee regulatory compliance.
  • Aid managers across HR programs: awards, performance, incentives, PDPP, SSR, VERA/VSIP, background checks, sponsorship.
  • Run studies on staffing levels, workload, organizational structure, and efficiency; grow recommendations for reorganizations and manpower adjustments.
  • Serve as central advisor to managers and employees on training programs, IDPs, compensation concerns, special pay rates, incentives, and HR policy interpretation.
  • Perform with DHA CoE, EEO, SJA, and other entities to collect info, respond to inquiries, assist appeals, handle FECA and labor-management activities.
  • Confirm even HR operations and alignment with organizational aims.
