LEAD SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

To qualify, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must include inventory audits, physical inventories, data analysis, and knowledge of FIAR standards.

• Performing inventory audits, reviewing internal controls, and supporting audit readiness.
• Conducting physical inventories, location validations, and condition assessments.
• Reviewing supply and production data to identify discrepancies and determine probable causes.
• Demonstrating knowledge of FIAR standards, DoD auditability requirements, and NAVSUP/NAVAIR audit policies.
• Preparing audit reports summarizing findings, contributing factors, and recommending corrective actions.
• Experience may be gained through paid or unpaid work, including volunteer service.

Lead the physical inventory accuracy program, develop annual and quarterly audit plans, and refine audit methodologies.

• Coordinate audit schedules with various internal departments.
• Analyze systemic issues affecting inventory accuracy and evaluate internal controls.
• Develop corrective action plans to address deficiencies.
• Prepare and submit formal audit reports and brief leadership on findings.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on inventory accuracy and internal controls.
• Lead a team to perform physical inventories, location audits, and condition assessments of materials.
• Investigate and reconcile complex discrepancies between physical counts and Navy ERP (SAP) records.
