The Norfolk Naval Shipyard is hiring a Machinist Inspector for the Caliber Assurance Division at the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In this role, you’ll inspect surface ship and submarine propulsion components, run surveillance inspections of last component operational tests, and perform in-process, receipt, and certification inspections. You’ll form on-the-spot acceptance or rejection decisions and defend those decisions in writing.

Qualification

Duties & Responsibilities

• Obtain particular and general assignments for inspection of surface ship and submarine propulsion components.

• May call for travel CONUS and OCONUS, such as remote or isolated sites, and travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.
