Kern County is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee mechanical and structural maintenance and repair operations. This full-time position is based at 1115 Truxtun Avenue in Bakersfield, California.

Qualification
To qualify for the Maintenance Supervisor position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications: a high school diploma or GED equivalent, plus three years of lead or supervisory experience in mechanical and structural maintenance and repair. Alternatively, two years as a Maintenance Worker IV within Kern County's classification system may substitute. A valid California Motor Vehicle License is also required.

- Three (3) years of lead or supervisory experience providing broad knowledge of mechanical and structural maintenance and repair.
- OR two (2) years as a Maintenance Worker IV in the Kern County Classification System.
- Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle License.
- Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the exam process.
Role Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate maintenance and repair activities for county buildings and equipment.
- Plan, assign, and inspect work of maintenance staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Prepare work schedules and prioritize tasks.
- Order materials and supplies as needed.
- Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs.
- Maintain records and reports on work performed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests.
