Maintenance Supervisor - Bakersfield, CA

To qualify for the Maintenance Supervisor position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications: a high school diploma or GED equivalent, plus three years of lead or supervisory experience in mechanical and structural maintenance and repair. Alternatively, two years as a Maintenance Worker IV within Kern County's classification system may substitute. A valid California Motor Vehicle License is also required.

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of lead or supervisory experience providing broad knowledge of mechanical and structural maintenance and repair.
• OR two (2) years as a Maintenance Worker IV in the Kern County Classification System.
• Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle License.
• Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the exam process.

Supervise and coordinate maintenance and repair activities for county buildings and equipment.

• Plan, assign, and inspect work of maintenance staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Prepare work schedules and prioritize tasks.
• Order materials and supplies as needed.
• Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Maintain records and reports on work performed.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests.

Valid California Motor Vehicle License.
