Job Description

The San Diego Veterans Benefits Administration Regional Office is hiring a Management and Program Analyst to support the Veterans Solution Center (VSC) and report to the Veterans Regional Office Director (VREO) and Assistant Director (AVREO).

In this role, you’ll offer objectively based information for decisions on administrative aspects of organizational operations and management. You’ll perform complex analytical activities to evaluate and boost station managerial and personnel policies, practices, ways, procedures, and organizational layouts.

This role includes researching and advising on policies, analyzing administrative internal controls for compliance and fraud prevention, and participating in meetings with agency officials.

Qualification

Present federal employees must have held a GS grade for 52 weeks at the next lower level. Education may substitute for expertise at GS-11.

  • GS-11: 52 weeks at GS-9 or equivalent; GS-12: 52 weeks at GS-11 or equivalent.
  • Give most recent SF-50 showing competitive offering and highest grade; if within past year, include an additional SF-50 demonstrating one year time-in-grade.

Role Responsibilities

Perform complicated analytical activities to evaluate and enhance station managerial and personnel policies, practices, approaches, procedures, and organizational setups.

  • Research, interpret, and advise on policies and procedures to the VREO and AVREO.
  • Analyze and evaluate administrative internal control systems for compliance and to spot fraud, waste, or mismanagement.
  • Participate in discussions, meetings, and conferences with agency administrators and officials to secure info, investigate facts, and present recommendations.
  • Advise management on distinct conditions affecting administrative activities and guide implementation of new legislation and regulations.
  • Serve as liaison between VBA District Office and other entities as assigned.
