The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Eastern Region, ATO, is hiring a Management and Program Assistant to support the Washington District at the Washington National Tower (DCA) in Arlington, Virginia.

Qualification

To qualify for the FV-344-F pay band (equivalent to FG/GS-9/10), you must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FV-E or FG/GS-7/8. Specialized experience includes compiling, tracking, and supporting programs such as purchases, inventory, and budget expenditures, as well as providing computer assistance, scheduling meetings, managing time and attendance, and travel administration.

  • Must be a current FAA employee (internal to the agency).
  • At least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FV-E or FG/GS-7/8.
  • Experience compiling, tracking, and providing support for programs such as purchases, inventory, and budget expenditures.
  • Experience providing computer assistance support, scheduling meetings, managing time and attendance, and travel administration.
  • Education may not be substituted for experience.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF-50 (Notification of Personnel Action) to verify current federal employment.
Role Responsibilities

Initiate requests for personnel actions and other documents required to fill vacancies and effect other personnel actions (promotions, details, resignations, certifications, etc.).

  • Coordinate questions with the servicing HR office regarding personnel actions, routine discrepancies, and missing or vague guidance.
  • Maintain and update organizational systems to ensure accurate account of staff levels, employee position assignments, and employee status.
  • Collect, compile, and format historical and trending financial information to contribute to the preparation and submission of budget requirements.
  • Modify and maintain automated systems for tracking obligation and expenditures of funds throughout the execution phase of the annual operating budget cycle.
  • Initiate or review procurement requests for equipment and other items as needed.
  • Ensure justification of requested items meets criteria for expenditures.
  • Ensure effective management and internal controls for administrative programs.
