Job Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Eastern Region, ATO, is hiring a Management and Program Assistant to assist the Washington District at the Washington National Tower (DCA) in Arlington, Virginia.
In this role, you’ll apply sophisticated administrative knowledge to blueprint and perform assignments that right away back managers and workforce in day-to-day air traffic operations. You’ll tackle personnel actions, track budget expenditures, handle procurement requests, and keep up organizational systems.

Salary: $62,724 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for the 1-344-F cover band (equivalent to FG/GS-9/10), you must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FV-E or FG/GS-7/8.
Specialized experience covers compiling, tracking, and supporting programs such as purchases, inventory, and budget expenditures, as well as providing computer assistance, scheduling meetings, managing time and attendance, and travel administration.
- Must be a present FAA employee (internal to the agency).
- At least one year (52 weeks) of specialized know-how equivalent to 1-E or FG/GS-7/8.
- Expertise compiling, tracking, and providing assist for programs such as purchases, inventory, and budget expenditures.
- Background providing computer assistance back, scheduling meetings, managing time and attendance, and travel administration.
- Education may not be substituted for know-how.
- US Citizenship is needed.
- Selective Offering Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must hand in an SF-50 (Notification of Personnel Action) to verify current federal employment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiate requests for personnel actions and other documents called for to load vacancies and impact other personnel actions (promotions, details, resignations, certifications, etc.).
- Arrange questions with the servicing HR office about personnel actions, routine discrepancies, and missing or vague guidance.
- Uphold and update organizational systems to guarantee correct account of team levels, employee post assignments, and employee status.
- Gather, compile, and format historical and trending financial info to contribute to the preparation and submission of budget conditions.
- Modify and keep up automated systems for tracking obligation and expenditures of funds throughout the execution phase of the annual working budget cycle.
- Initiate or evaluate procurement requests for equipment and other items as needed.
- Confirm justification of requested items meets criteria for expenditures.
- Make sure efficient management and internal controls for administrative programs.
Conditions & Requirements

- Security Clearance: Selection and placement are contingent upon waiver or completion of satisfactory security need.
- Role may be subject to a background investigation.
- A one-year probationary period may be called for.

- FAA policy limits certain outside employment and financial investments in aviation-related companies.
- This is a bargaining unit post represented by Pass: ATO Districts.

Required Documents
- Most new Notification of Personnel Action (SF-50) is needed. For FAA employees, the SF-50 must comprise data in Blocks 15, 17, 18, 19, 22, and 24 to verify post title, series, grade, tenure, and body.

- If relying on education, provide transcripts from accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
