The IL USPFO in Springfield, Illinois is hiring a Materials Handler (Title 32) to oversee product lines, manage warehouse segments, or serve as the senior employee in a smaller supply facility.
This role involves checking stock numbers, identifying and classifying property, operating large vehicles like forklifts up to 10,000 lbs, and preparing inventory reports using STAMIS systems. You will also handle hazardous materials and ensure proper storage and disposal.

Qualification
This Title 32 Excepted Service position requires membership in the Illinois National Guard in the military grade of Enlisted
- NTE E5. Specialized experience varies by grade level: WG-06 requires experience in receiving, packaging, shipment preparation, warehouse planning, and storage rotation; WG-05 requires ability to store and organize supplies; WG-04 requires basic warehouse skills and tool use. No education substitution is permitted.

- WG-06 Level: Specialized experience in receiving, packaging, and preparation for shipment; compiling reports; overall warehouse planning; documentation requirements; accepted warehousing methods; setting up and rotating storage locations considering life expectancy, space, and product turnover.
- WG-05 Level: Experience demonstrating ability to store, organize, and rotate bin and bulk supplies; familiarity with basic warehouse procedures; determining quantities of inventory items; following oral and written instructions.
- WG-04 Level: Experience demonstrating ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue request forms; skill in using hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment; ability to use hand tools; following oral and written instructions.

Role Responsibilities
Check stock numbers and part numbers in supply catalogs to adequately identify property.
- Identify, examine, classify, accept, and dispose of a wide variety of materials and property including electronic equipment, aircraft and automotive components and assemblies.
- Operate large warehouse perimeter vehicles such as cargo tractors, stake trucks, mobile cranes, and forklifts ranging in size up to 10,000 lbs.
- Determine physical condition and serviceability of material and property.
- Prepare items for processing using Standard Army Management Information System (STAMIS) such as computer terminal and bar code reader to read, store, track and prepare material documentation.
- Prepare inventory and production reports, screen and identify shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies, and direct shipments to shipping or storage areas.
- Store hazardous materials requiring knowledge of specialized handling, storing, and safety procedures.
Conditions & Requirements
Must be a member of the Illinois National Guard in the military grade listed (Enlisted)
- NTE E5) prior to effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968; conviction of a qualifying crime of domestic violence disqualifies.
