• 1-6: At least 1 year of experience comparable to GS-5, plus KSAs including aptitude to recognize special patient requires and insight of Holter monitoring and universal precautions.
• 1-7: At least 1 year of experience comparable to GS-6, plus KSAs such as capacity to perform a complete span of procedures and give instruction to lower-level technicians.

Operate and monitor electrocardiographic equipment for arrhythmia detection, oximetry, and ECG recording.

• Perform real-time cardiac surveillance of multiple patients using computerized monitoring systems.
• Interpret typical and abnormal cardiac rhythms and oximetry levels.
• Promptly communicate life-threatening or considerable adjusts to nurses and/or physicians.
• Activate rapid response or emergency Code Blue as needed.
• Evaluate tracings to decide proper machine adjustments and employ alternative techniques when required.
• Edit and select suitable sample portions of tracings for further interpretation.
• Adapt equipment and accessories to yield optimal effects during examinations.
• Perform normal operator maintenance covering disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration of equipment.
• Track universal precautions and sterilization techniques per CDC guidelines.
