The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is hiring a Mental Health Counselor 2 for the Pahrump Child Welfare Office. In this role, you will provide intensive family services (IFS) to families involved with the child welfare system in rural Nevada.
Services are delivered in-home and are family-centered, including counseling, skill-building, advocacy, mental health assessments for children and their parents, and clinical case management for complex, high-risk families.
Counselors also conduct diagnoses for children in custody to access services, provide crisis intervention, and manage placement disruptions.
Qualification
To qualify for this Mental Health Counselor 2 position.. You must hold a current Nevada license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.. Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor.. Or Licensed Practicing Counselor. This licensure is required to perform the full range of duties.
- Current Nevada license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor (LCADC), or Licensed Practicing Counselor (LPC).
- Experience providing counseling, case management, and direct clinical services to mentally ill, developmentally disabled, or emotionally disturbed clients.
- Experience delivering in-home, family-centered intensive services, including skill-building and supportive services.
- Ability to conduct mental health assessments for children and parents.
- Experience with crisis intervention and clinical case management for high-risk families.
- Knowledge of child welfare systems and rural service delivery.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client homes in rural Nevada.

Conditions & Requirements

Benefits
Salary range $73,017
- $108,827 per year.
