MWR Food Service Worker

To qualify for the MWR Food Service Worker position.. You must demonstrate the ability to perform tasks involving several procedures.. Knowledge of food handling techniques and portion control.. Basic arithmetic skills.. And the ability to follow verbal and written instructions. A working knowledge of sanitation standards and contamination prevention is required.

• Knowledge of procedures to prevent contamination (e.g., cleaning equipment used for raw food before further use, using chemical sanitizer or proper water temperature when cleaning dishes).
• Must be able to pass food service screening and training.

Set up buffet/food lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items.

• Serve food by placing portions on customers' plates.
• Brew coffee according to the number of servings required.
• Assemble and toss fresh fruit or green salads in quantity using prepared dressings and portion into standard serving sizes.
• Portion other food items (e.g., gelatins, juices, desserts) into standard serving sizes using proper utensils and containers.
• Make sandwiches using prepared ingredients.
• Break down and clean assigned area when the meal is finished and return food to the main kitchen.
• Set up and operate a mechanical dishwasher, including the continuous conveyor belt-feeding dishwasher.
• Remove inspection doors, strainer pans, screens, and spray arms for preventive maintenance and cleaning.

Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

• Must remain drug-free throughout employment (Executive Order 12564).
• If involved in child care services, must complete Installation Records Check (IRC) including checks of SARP, FAP, and NJIS databases.
• Non-U.S. citizens with fewer than three years of recent residential history in the U.S. may be determined ineligible.
• Selectee may be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
• Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within first 30 days of employment is required.
• Must have a REAL ID or acceptable identity documents to access military installation.
