Job Description

The Indian Health Offering (IHS) is hiring a Nurse (Clinical Accountability and Metrics) for the Kayenta Service Unit's Division of Nursing, Outpatient/Pediatric Department in Kayenta, Arizona. This full-time, permanent GS-11 post gives a pay of $98,244 per year and is unseal to U.S.

Qualification

To qualify for this GS-11 Nurse role, you must gather both the fundamental education and licensure conditions and have at least one year of specialized know-how equivalent to the GS-09 level.   • Specialized Experience: At least one year of skilled nursing background equivalent to GS-09, such as ambulatory care, patient assessment, case management, care coordination, chronic disease management, patient education, clinical documentation, and referral coordination.
  • Aptitude to give nursing care to diverse patient populations, communicate effectively, recognize and respond to changing patient conditions, work clinical equipment, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Foreign nursing graduates must offer formal certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS).
  • All qualification needs must be met within 30 days of the closing date (08/04/2026).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supply outpatient nursing care and patient assessments for all age groups, including triage, treatments, medication administration, monitoring, and response to changing conditions.

  • Run chronic disease care and patient tracking systems by keeping up disease registries, monitoring patient follow-up, obtaining outside medical records/findings, and supporting standard improvement initiatives.
  • Give patient and family education and aid through health counseling, disease prevention education, treatment guidance, and assistance in understanding medical conditions and care schemes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams covering providers, nurses, specialty clinics, community tools, and support offerings to improve patient outcomes, safety, and healthcare delivery.
  • Uphold clinical documentation and confirm compliance with federal and IHS policies and procedures.
  • Participate in clinic workflow improvement and patient flow optimization to enhance service integration and continuity of care.
