Job Description
Pitt County Government is seeking a Paramedic to join its emergency medical solutions group in Greenville, North Carolina. In this role, you’ll respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, offer cutting life back interventions, and transport patients to medical facilities.
You’ll operate under general supervision but must exercise independent judgment in assessing and treating patients. This role is perfect for certified paramedics who thrive in fast-paced, pre-hospital environments and are committed to delivering high-quality emergency care.
Salary & Compensation
Salary: $60,061 - $94,929 per year.
Qualification
You must be certified as a Paramedic in North Carolina and possess a sound driver's license. Experience in emergency medical offerings is preferred.
- Certification as a Paramedic in North Carolina.

- Capacity to perform refined life support interventions.
- Understanding of emergency medical protocols and procedures.
- Competence in assessing and treating sick or injured persons.
- Aptitude to exercise independent judgment in emergency situations.
- Tact, courtesy, and firmness in dealing with patients and the public.
- Physical capacity to perform demanding emergency medical function.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency medical calls as a mobile medic.
- Administer sophisticated life support interventions on scene and en route.
- Assess patients and decide appropriate medical treatment.
- Transport sick or injured persons to medical facilities.
- Work an approved mobile medical unit.
- Assure fundamental life aid interventions are performed timely and accurately.
- Track established emergency medical protocols and procedures.
- Report to the Paramedic Supervisor, EMS Coordinator, and Emergency Management Director.
Conditions & Requirements
- Must be a certified Paramedic in North Carolina.
- Aptitude to perform in a high-stress environment.
- Exposure to infectious diseases and other hazards of pre-hospital emergency operate.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
