The State of Hawai'i Department of Land & Natural Resources is hiring a Park Caretaker I to support park operations in the Kamuela, Kohala, and Waikoloa areas on the Island of Hawaii.
Qualification
To qualify for the Park Caretaker I position, you must meet the minimum qualification requirements established by the State of Hawai'i. These typically include experience in park maintenance, custodial work, or a related field. Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Experience in park maintenance, custodial work, landscaping, or a related field.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, trash removal, and minor repairs.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures in a park or outdoor setting.

- Valid driver's license may be required.

Role Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness of park facilities including restrooms, picnic areas, and trails.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance to park structures and equipment.
- Assist with setting up and taking down park events and programs.
- Monitor park grounds for safety hazards and report issues to supervisors.
- Provide information and assistance to park visitors.
- Operate and maintain park vehicles and tools.
- Support natural resource conservation efforts as directed.
Conditions & Requirements
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must be able to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
- May be required to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
