This Physician (Radiology-Diagnostic) post is based at Brooke Army Medical Center, section of the Military Treatment Facilities under the Defense Health Agency (DHA) in Houston, Texas. Work in this role contains evaluating imaging test findings for diagnosis, patient care, research, and education.
You’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary crew such as diagnostic imaging team, x-ray technicians, laboratory workforce, and referring clinicians to frank clinical care plans and attain clinical and research objectives.
The operate involves consulting with requesting providers before procedures, providing radiologic diagnostic reports, and training radiology residents, other physicians, and medical students. Salary negotiation may be open for those new to Federal service, and student loan repayment may be cleared. Remote telework is permitted. The role is full-time and demands shift function, on-call duties, and moderate to hefty lifting up to 50 pounds.
Salary & Compensation
Pay / Cover Package: $124,308 - $400,000 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for this GP-14 Physician (Radiology-Diagnostic) role, you must be a US Citizen and encounter the education, licensure, and residency needs below. Your resume must plainly detail your related know-how; if qualifying based on education, transcripts are needed.
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited school in the US or Canada. Foreign medical graduates need permanent certification by ECFMG or a Fifth Pathway certificate.
- Licensure: Current, active, complete, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a US state, DC, Puerto Rico, or a US territory.
- Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised clinical expertise (internship or first year of residency) in an accredited hospital or institution.
- Residency Training: Thriving completion of an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology, plus equivalent background and training even to at least 4 years. Know-how can’t substitute for called for residency.
- Board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology is preferred but not needed.
- Must be capable to obtain and keep up Elementary Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross.
- Must fulfill non-privileged professional credential conditions.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required; this role is a Testing Designated Post subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing.
- Pre-placement medical examination and immunization screening called for, covering Hepatitis B for frank patient contact.
- Must consent to seasonal influenza vaccination or supply a recognized exemption.
Role Responsibilities
- Evaluate imaging test effects for diagnosis, patient care, research, and education.

- Aid with formulating blueprints and procedures for assigned solutions; arrange radiological services with other medical activities.
- Participate in on-call duties and shift perform, covering evenings, weekends, and holidays.
