Job Description
The Superior Court of California, County of Marin, is hiring a Principal Human Resources Specialist to support court operations through complete HR services.
This role involves managing full-cycle recruitment, classification and compensation, equal employment opportunity, labor and employee relations, leave of absence and workers' compensation administration, benefits management, training and development, and other HR programs.
You will also prepare and process the court's biweekly payroll, maintain time and attendance systems, and administer payroll databases. This position is ideal for a proactive HR professional with experience in public sector HR, employee relations, and systems like NEOGOV and ADP.

Salary & Compensation
Salary: $90,230 - $114,296 per year.
Qualification
Qualified candidates typically have a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in human resources.. Public administration.. Or a related field.. And several years of progressively responsible professional HR experience.. Including recruitment.. Classification.. Compensation.. Benefits.. And payroll.
Public sector experience is highly valued.

- Several years of progressively responsible professional human resources experience, including recruitment, classification, compensation, benefits administration, and payroll.
- Experience with public sector HR practices and regulations.
- Proficiency with HR information systems such as NEOGOV and ADP.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including EEO, FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee relations matters with discretion.
- Experience processing biweekly payroll and maintaining time and attendance systems.
- Certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is desirable.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment and selection processes, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Administer classification and compensation programs, ensuring alignment with court policies and market data.
- Coordinate equal employment opportunity (EEO) programs and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Provide guidance on labor and employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
- Administer leave of absence and workers' compensation programs, including tracking and documentation.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and deferred compensation.
- Develop and deliver training and development programs for court staff.
- Prepare and process the court's biweekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Maintain employee time and attendance records and payroll systems.
- Perform other human resources support work as assigned.
