SAFETY & OCCUPATINAL HEALTH SPECIALIST is listed by US ARMY YUMA PROVING GROUND SAFETY DIRECTORATE. The US Army 12 Proving Ground (YPG) Safety Directorate is hiring a Safety & Occupational Health Specialist at the GS-12 level.

This role is central to securing the safety of personnel and operations at one of the Army's premier test and evaluation facilities. YPG carries out critical testing of military equipment in extreme desert conditions, making safety oversight necessary.

As a Safety & Occupational Health Specialist, you’ll carry out compliance inspections of worksites to spot safety and occupational health deficiencies. You’ll evaluate and advise on safety surveillance and enforcement programs to confirm compliance with OSHA standards and Army regulations.

A central task is investigating accidents and incidents to work out root causes and contributing elements, then developing recommendations to prevent recurrence. You’ll also analyze mishap movements to pinpoint the demand for additional safety training for both military and civilian personnel.

To qualify for this GS-12 Safety & Occupational Health Specialist post, you must gather one of the specified hiring authorities and possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct compliance inspections of activity worksites to spot operational, facility, or system safety and occupational health deficiencies.
• Evaluate and advise on safety and occupational health surveillance and enforcement programs to guarantee compliance with regulatory guidelines and OSHA safety standards.
• Review safety training programs to make sure compliance with standards, policies, and regulations.
• Investigate accidents and incidents causing injury or property damage and hazardous conditions that may cause serious injury or death.
