Qualification

You must keep a Bachelor's Degree or higher with at least 30 semester hours of elementary or applied science. A Texas Sanitarian-in-Training registration is needed within six months of appointment, and a valid Texas Class C Driver's License (or equivalent from another state) is needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gather samples of food solutions, water, and sewage for laboratory analysis.
  • Inspect establishments for compliance with state and nearby regulations.
  • Spot health hazards and advise issuance or denial of permits to work.
  • Get ready written reports on inspection findings and enforcement actions.
  • Enforce applicable laws, ordinances, policies, and procedures.
