Qualification

To qualify for this GS-12 Experienced Social Worker post, you must encounter fundamental conditions including U.S. Citizenship, English proficiency, a master's degree in social function from a CSWE-accredited plan, and state licensure at the sophisticated practice level.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Run psychosocial assessments and case management for Veterans involved with the justice system.
  • Give continuous grade improvement activities, evaluation, consultation, and placement offerings.
  • Develop referral and linkage to community agencies for Veterans within six months of release or under court supervision.
  • Gather regularly with judges, court officers, correctional administrators, and staff to design and keep up policies and procedures.
  • Attend justice system workforce trainings related to working with offenders and high-risk populations.
  • Represent VA at community meetings and cater to on applicable boards, councils, and task forces.
  • Collaborate with other Justice Outreach clinicians to assist engagement in care for eligible Veterans of late discharged from correctional institutions.
  • Carry out active outreach to Veterans involved with the justice system.
  • Uphold contact with providers, state team, social, financial, lawful, health, and mental health agencies, Veterans and their families, conservators, employers, landlords, police, attorneys, judges, and probation/parole officers.
  • Offer specialized consultation to colleagues and students on psychosocial treatment of patients in the offering delivery sphere.
