Social Worker I (PO/DL) - Hilo, Hawaii

To qualify for Social Worker I (PO/DL) at SR-16, you must meet the minimum qualification requirements published on the job posting. This is the first level; higher levels (II, III, IV) are also available for those with more experience or education.

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in social work.
• Or a bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, sociology, counseling) and one year of professional social work experience.
• Or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A current valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle is required.
• Applicants must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be a citizen, national, or legal resident of the United States.
• Experience in a court or legal setting is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of social work principles, practices, and ethics.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and handle sensitive situations.

Provide direct social work services to clients involved in court proceedings.

• Conduct assessments and evaluations of clients' social, emotional, and environmental needs.
• Develop and implement case plans in collaboration with clients and other professionals.
• Make referrals to community resources and coordinate services.
• Prepare reports and documentation for court hearings and case files.
• Testify in court as needed regarding client assessments and recommendations.
• Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Judiciary's mission.
