Qualification

To qualify for this Social Worker Supervisor I (B) position.. You must have a Master's degree in Social Work and at least two years of post-MSW experience in a public child welfare or adult protective services agency.. Including one year of supervisory experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Social Work with three years of qualifying experience may be accepted.

  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
  • Two years of full-time post-MSW experience in a public child welfare or adult protective services agency.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience over social work staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work with three years of qualifying experience may substitute for the Master's degree.
  • Knowledge of APS and RFA laws, regulations, and proven methods.
  • Ability to conduct case reviews, provide clinical supervision, and evaluate staff performance.
  • Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record (if required for field visits).
  • Successful completion of a background investigation and fingerprinting.
Role Responsibilities

Supervise a team of social workers handling Adult Protective Services and Resource Family Approval cases.

  • Assign cases, review assessments, and ensure timely completion of investigations and home studies.
  • Provide clinical supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations to subordinate staff.
  • Coordinate with community partners, law enforcement, and court officials on complex cases.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new and existing social workers.
  • Monitor caseloads and workload distribution to maintain compliance with state standards.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for program audits and quality assurance reviews.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies as needed.
