Job Description

STAFF 1, ASSOCIATE ENGINEER - UNDERFILL is listed by State of Nevada (NV) in Reno. The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Mining Regulation and Reclamation is hiring a Staff 1 Associate Engineer (Underfill) for its Reclamation Branch in Reno.

In this role, you will review Exploration and Mine Plans of Operations, Reclamation Plans, and reclamation cost estimates to determine if affected land will meet regulatory requirements for productive post-mining land use.

Upon approval, you will help issue Reclamation Permits and financial assurance determinations, coordinating with state or federal agencies for surety bonds. You will also conduct site inspections to ensure permit compliance.

This position is an underfill for a Professional Engineer role, allowing you to perform a broad range of engineering work not requiring licensure by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Salary & Compensation

Salary: $64,415 - $95,630 per year.

Qualification

This position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university. As an underfill, licensure is not required, but you must have the ability to obtain professional engineering licensure in the future.
