The United States Attorney's Office, Middle District of Florida is hiring a Student Trainee (Clerical) to offer general office back in Orlando. This Pathways internship is open to present students enrolled at least half-time in an accredited high school, college, or graduate plan.
You’ll obtain proper and on-the-job training whereas performing clerical tasks such as answering phones, operating copy machines, filing, and making messenger trips. This role is best-suited for students seeking federal function background with a versatile schedule (minimum 20 hours per week during firm hours).
Responsibilities will develop as you acquire know-how. Telework isn’t on offer; this is an onsite post at the Tampa office (400 North Tampa Street) but the responsibility location is Orlando.
Salary & Compensation
Salary: $35,749 - $44,780 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for this GS-2/3 Student Trainee (Clerical) position, you must encounter student status, citizenship, and background investigation conditions. At the GS-2 level, you require at least 3 months of general experience or a high school diploma.
At GS-3, you demand 6 months of general expertise or 1 year of education above high school.
- Must be a United States citizen or owe permanent allegiance to the U.S.
- Enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited high school, technical/vocational school, two-year or four-year college/university, graduate/professional school, or certificate scheme equivalent to at least one academic 3 of full-time study.
- Must be in great academic standing as defined by your school.
- Must be taking at least a half-time course load leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
- At least 16 years of age.
- GS-2: 3 months of general background (e.g., answering phones, filing, running copier) OR high school diploma or equivalent.
- GS-3: 6 months of general know-how OR 1 year of education above high school (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours) OR a combination of education and expertise.
- General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other perform indicating capacity to perform trainee duties.
- Foreign education must be evaluated by a credentialing agency and accompanied by a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency.
- All education must be from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Answer telephones and refer callers to suitable workforce or obtain messages.
- Work a copy machine and perform collating and stapling assignments.
- Sort and arrange materials for filing in alphabetical, numerical, or chronological order.
- Locate and retrieve files and documents as requested.
- Stock forms and other office supplies.
- Create recurring and distinct messenger trips when needed.
- Get official and on-the-job training to grow clerical expertise.
- Supply general office aid to expert, plan, or technical team.
