Qualification
This GS-11 Supply Management Specialist position requires current membership in the Mississippi Army National Guard and a compatible military assignment (O1-O3). You must have at least 36 months of specialized experience supervising supply personnel and managing supply functions, including knowledge of the entire inventory management supply system.
- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

- GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training providing general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field, plus experience using computer and automation systems.
- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 36 months of experience, education, or training supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions.
- Knowledge of the entire inventory management supply system.
- Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues.
- Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper management.
- Experience managing the function of the work to be performed, including leading, directing, and assigning work of personnel.
- No substitution of education for specialized experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
Role Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and manage supply and services functions, including command equipment/property readiness and accountability management.
- Formulate and implement command supply operating procedures and policies to support units.
- Ensure unit responsibilities for receipting and accounting of equipment and supplies are met.
- Develop and manage the state logistics contingency stockage plan and coordinate with the USPFO.
- Implement the Chief of Staff of the Army Supply Excellence Award Program.
- Administer the command equipment loan program and serve as the focal point for approval of equipment loans within the state ARNG.
- Direct the loan of equipment between units within the command.
- In coordination with the USPFO, request and direct loans of equipment to and from entities outside the command/state, preparing inter-service support agreements.

Must be a current federal technician employed by the Mississippi Army National Guard (internal to agency).
- Must hold a compatible military assignment in the National Guard (grades O1-O3).
- Wear of the military uniform is mandatory.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
- Valid state driver's license may be required for positions requiring operation of motor vehicles.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
- Situations of inversion of military rank are not permitted (military technician may not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor).
