Job Description
The U.S. Army Cadet Command is hiring a Supply Technician (MVO) to provide staff assistance in supply and logistics management for the Senior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (SROTC) Program and affiliated units.
In this role, you will forecast, request, and manage Operations and Maintenance, Army (OMA) and Military Personnel, Army (MPA) budgets.
You will also account for property, manage various classes of supplies, and use automated systems to prepare supply transaction documents and management reports.
Qualification
To qualify for this GS-7 Supply Technician position, you must meet one of the listed employment authority categories and have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level. Experience must include maintaining record management files, inspecting supplies for discrepancies, operating automated word processing equipment, and maintaining property books.

- Specialized Experience: One year of experience at the GS-06 level that includes ensuring record management files are properly maintained, following procedures to inspect supply or equipment for discrepancies, operating automated word processing equipment with hardware and software to prepare correspondence, forms, and reports, and maintaining property book in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Time in Grade: Applicants who have held a GS position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (GS-06).
- Education: No substitution of education for experience is permitted for this position.
- Your resume must be two pages or less and clearly describe your relevant experience.
- Volunteer work (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) is credited as qualifying experience.
Role Responsibilities
Provide staff assistance in all areas of supply and logistics management for the SROTC Program and affiliates within the Task Force structure.
- Forecast, request, and manage Operations and Maintenance, Army (OMA) and Military Personnel, Army (MPA) budgets for the host program and affiliates.
- Account for property and manage various classes of supplies at the host and affiliated programs.
- Use automated computer/software applications to prepare documents involving supply transactions, management reports, and logistics.
- Provide logistics support for programs within the task force as directed.
- May be required to serve as Unit Prevention Leader (UPL) and complete training certification.
Conditions & Requirements
Appointment subject to a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel 30% of the time, including 6-12 weeks each summer in support of USACC Cadet Summer Training at Fort Knox.
- Pre-employment physical and drug test required.
- Valid state driver's license required.
- Lautenberg Amendment compliance required.
- May be required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Material Endorsement (HAZMAT).
- Moderate lifting of 50 pounds or more required.
- Must complete Supply Tech Course within 1 year of employment and refresher as required.
- Must complete LOG course within 1 year from Entrance on Duty (EOD) and refresher every 3 years.
- One-year probationary period may be required.
