Job Description

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is hiring a Systems Accountant to join the Property Accounting/Reporting Division, Capitalization Policy and Performance Branch in Washington, DC. In this role, you’ll keep up FAA financial policies and procedures for capitalization, interpret federal regulations, and reconcile their bearing on FAA operations.

You’ll evaluate proposed and enacted property, plant, and equipment (PP&E) policies from agencies such as the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the Federal Accounting Usual Advisory Board (FASAB), and the U.S. Treasury.

Using your technical writing expertise, you’ll amend or draft new requirements and function with other workforce to build dissemination strategies for rollout and compliance.

As a subject matter expert, you’ll advise FAA Lines of Company and Team Offices on capitalization matters, such as the National Task Capitalization Utility, and assist as a point of contact for property accounting policy guidance.

Qualification

To qualify for this Systems Accountant position, you must encounter the basic educational conditions and have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H or FG/GS-12 level. Specialized know-how involves registering accounting and financial management standards for property and financial management organizations.
