Qualification
To qualify for the GS-1702-09 Training Technician position, you must meet military grade requirements (E-4 through E-7) and possess specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or 24 months of experience demonstrating the required competencies. Knowledge of Army or Air Force vision, values, organization, policy, and mission is mandatory.
- Military Grades: E-4 through E-7.
- General Experience: Must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level and have a minimum of one-year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level.
- Must have education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
- Experience, education, or training demonstrating the ability to follow directions, read, understand, and retain instructions, regulations, and procedures.
- Specialized Experience: At least 1 year equivalent to GS-07 or 24 months of experience demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties.
- Knowledge of training centers, training programs, schools, and units for these systems.
- Experience in conducting and developing education and training programs.
- Experience in conducting, supervising, or developing education or training programs.
- Knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training policy requirements.
Role Responsibilities
Oversee Group Training Programs and Subordinate Unit Compliance.
- Serve as the Group Unit Training Manager (UTM) under the direction of the Force Support Squadron (FSS)
- Force Development Office (FDO).
- Conduct Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) and evaluate Unit Training Programs.
- Manage formal schools and distance learning integration.
- Support Commander-Level Board Processes and Force Development initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Conditions & Requirements
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If not currently a member, must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed.
